ANNA MARIA JOPEK, A VOCALISTA DE JAZZ POLONESA.


A cantora polonesa Anna Maria Jopek, nasceu no 13 de dezembro de 1970 em Varsóvia. Anna-Maria é filha de Stanislaw Jopek, vocalista do Mazowsze, importante grupo folclórico polonês.

Formada em música pela Academia Chopin de Música em Varsóvia, participou do Festival Eurovisão da Polónia em 1997, qualificando-se no décimo primeiro lugar entre vinte e cinco participantes. Em seguida, passou uma temporada em New York, onde estudou jazz na Manhattan School of Music e tem realizado apresentações em vários eventos nas mais importantes capitais européias.. Em 2002, ela foi descoberta pelo guitarrista de jazz americano Pat Metheny e participou como convidada especial do CD "Upojenie".


Ao longo da carreira recebeu vários premios importantes em seu país, e dos 12 CDs que gravou até agora dois lhe deram um disco de ouro e de platina na Europa e foi agraciada com o Premio Michel Legrand em 1994. Ela declara que a música em si é o maior premio e o grande desafio de sua carreira musical.


Em 2009 excursionou pela Russia, Indonésia, Cingapura e Japão.

Jazz vocalist Anna Maria Jopek, was born on December 13, 1970 in Warsaw, is a Polish musician and singer. She represented her country in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Ale Jestem" and finished 11th out of 25 participating acts; and in 2002, she collaborated on the album "Upojenie" with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny.



She is the recipient of numerous awards for her music, including Michel Legrand's Personal Award in Vitebsk in 1994, as well as all of the awards for music in Poland, together with gold and platinum records. However, she has said: "Music itself is the highest award for me. And the greatest challenge. With so many questions remaining to be answered". She's married to music journalist, photographer and guitarist Marcin Kydrynski, and has two sons, Franciszek and Stanisław.


Anna Maria Jopek is the daughter of Mazowsze singer Stanislaw Jopek who is known as the "First Coachman of Poland" for his signature song "Furman" (The Coachman), and former Mazowsze dancer Maria Stankiewicz.


Her 1999 Chistmas album "Dzisiaj z Betleyem" features two duets with her father. Anna Maria's sister, Patrycja is a violinist.

In 2007 she recorded album "ID" with such artist as Mino Cinelu,Christian McBride,Richard Bona, Branford Marsalis, Dhafer TYoussef, Tord Gustavsen and the brazilian musician Oscar Castro-Neves,


In April/May 2009. she did a tour with stops in Russia,Indonésia,Singapore and Japan.
